John Farrell

John Farrell is a San Pedro native, now living in Long Beach, who has been reviewing music, opera, musical theater and stage productions for more than 35 years in the Los Angeles area. He was for nearly 20 years a regular at Ambassador Auditorium in Pasadena, working for the Pasadena Star-News, and has worked with the Los Angeles Opera and Long Beach Opera since their beginnings For more 12 years has regularly reviewed the Long Beach Symphony Orchestra.

In the last five years he has also been attending assiduously local theater, including Little Fish Theatre and The Relevant Stage in San Pedro, The Garage Theatre, The Found Theatre, International City Theatre, and California Repertory Company in Long Beach.

John is a free-lance writer who has written for many newspapers, wrote a regular column for the Salt Lake City Event, reviewed restaurants as the Thrifty Gourmet for the Long Beach Press-Telegram and has written for Random Lengths News for three years.
